3M 6051 A1 Carbon Gas Filter against organic vapors for 3M masks
The 3M 6051 Class A gas filter is a high-efficiency replacement element designed to purify air from organic gases and vapors with a boiling point above 65°C. This carbon filter for respirators is indispensable when working with gasoline, solvents, varnishes, enamels, and various adhesives. Activated carbon, a natural sorbent processed in 3M laboratories to maximize the retention of harmful substances in industrial zones, is used as the filtering material.

Extending Service Life
The manufacturer strongly recommends using mask filters in conjunction with 3M™ 5911 (P1), 3M™ 5925 (P2), or 3M™ 5935 (P3) particulate pre-filters. Pre-filters are attached to the gas filter using the 3M™ 501 holder.
Pre-filter Function
Protects not only the respiratory organs from harmful aerosols but also significantly extends the life of the carbon cartridge by preventing its premature clogging with dust.
Attachment
To fix the pre-filter onto the 6051 body, a special 3M™ 501 holder must be used.
When to choose
The 3M 6051 (A1) filter is the right choice when the primary risk is organic vapors with a boiling point above 65°C: paint, nitro-solvents, gasoline, acetone, xylene. Optimal for painters and body shops. For comprehensive protection against aerosols, combine with 3M™ 5925 (P2) or 5935 (P3) pre-filters.
When NOT to choose
The A1 filter does not protect against acid gases (chlorine, SO₂) and ammonia. If these are present, use 3M 6057 (ABE1) for chlorine protection or 3M 6059 (ABEK1) if ammonia is present. Use is prohibited if the substance's boiling point is below 65°C.
How it differs from other filters
Unlike the 3M 6057 (ABE1), the 6051 model is designed exclusively for organic vapors — its resource is consumed more slowly in a 'pure' organic environment. Compared to the 3M 6059 (ABEK1): it has no protection against ammonia (K), chlorine, or acid gases (B, E). The bayonet and housing are identical for the entire 6051/6057/6059 line — full compatibility with 6000 and 7500 series masks.
