The chin flap ensures an airtight fit of a half-mask or gas mask — critical when using respiratory protection simultaneously.
When NOT to choose DuPont Tychem 2000C
For pressure higher than allowed for Type 3, a completely sealed Type 1/2 suit is required. For Type 5/6 tasks without jet exposure — TECRON PRO or Lakeland MicroMax NS are more economical. For maximum class biohazard protection — Lakeland MicroMax TS (ISO 16604 Cl. 6, heat-sealed seams). For use with non-3M respiratory protection — TECRON Chemi Pro without specific mask binding.
How it differs from other chemical protection models
Against TECRON Chemi Pro (Type 3B, TPU seams): the key difference is the proprietary DuPont Tychem material without the tendency to micro-cracks under repeated bending and the mask flap. Tychem is a global industry standard for emergency services. Against 3M 4565 (Type 4B): Tychem 2000C is one class higher (Type 3B) and withstands higher jet pressure. 3M 4565 is the choice for use with 3M masks.
