A noise exposure level (LEX,8h) exceeding 95 dBA requires protective equipment with an SNR of at least 33 dB—37 dB provides a double margin by standard. As earplugs for sleep with intense street noise (construction equipment, highway)—the maximum SNR will ensure silence where 29–33 dB is already insufficient. Polyurethane is unsuitable for swimming and water sports—water destroys the structure of the foamed material. Not suitable for children: the size is universal, designed for an adult ear canal. With light household noise (quiet apartment, economy class aircraft seat), 37 dB is excessive—choose a silicone "fir tree" (SNR 29 dB), which is softer during long wear in a lying position.
